The Manitoba Bisons women’s basketball team welcomes Izzi Fust, who joins her sister Kyu Fust in the Brown and Gold.
Their father, Paul Fust, was a five-year Bisons men’s basketball standout and a 1999 GPAC First Team All-Star.
Izzi, a six-foot-one wing, was Manitoba’s top-ranked high school player in 2024 and helped Dakota Collegiate win three provincial championships.
She spent the past two seasons with the Regina Cougars, earning Canada West and U SPORTS All-Rookie Team honours in 2024–25.
She also represented Team Canada at Global Jam 2025 and has earned Academic All-Canadian honours in both university seasons.
Izzi’s return to Manitoba reunites her with Kyu and several former Dakota teammates, including Taylor Schepp, daughter of Bisons men’s head coach Kirby Schepp.
The Fust family’s basketball connection to Winnipeg runs deep. Izzi and Kyu’s mother, Brook (Bender) Fust, played for the Winnipeg Wesmen and helped the team win a bronze medal in 2002.
