The Herd tipped off their preseason with a strong performance, defeating the UNB Reds in the opening game of the UNB Reds Four-Team Tournament.
Darren Watts led the way with a double-double - 14 points and 11 rebounds - while Mason Kraus added 12 points.
Cieran O’Hara made his presence felt inside, pulling down nine boards and blocking six shots.
The Herd dominated the glass, out-rebounding UNB 43–29 to control the tempo and secure the win.
