The Herd Closes Strong to Defeat UBC Okanagan 79–68!


The Bisons used a dominant fourth quarter to seal a 79–68 win over UBC Okanagan, outscoring the Heat 23–18 in the final frame.


After trailing 17–16 after the first quarter, the Bisons took a narrow 41–40 lead into halftime. They extended their advantage in the third, outpacing UBCO 15–10 to lead 56–50 heading into the fourth.


Darren Watts led all scorers with 14 points, while Manyang Tong added 11 (pictured above) and Ramogi Nyagudi chipped in 10. Sam Jensen, Brandt Lenz, and Tito Abasoto each contributed 9 points.


It was a balanced team effort, with 11 Bisons getting on the scoresheet and nine players logging at least 15 minutes. Manitoba shot an efficient 45% from the field and 35% from three-point range.
