Bisons Men's Basketball – National Championship History

 


The Bisons have proudly represented the University of Manitoba on the national stage eight times.


🏆 Medal Finishes

  • 1971 – 🥈Silver Medalists (National Finalists)
    The Bisons made their first major national statement, advancing all the way to the championship game and earning silver.


  • 1975 – 🥈Silver Medalists (National Finalists)
    A return to the national final underscored Manitoba’s growing prominence as a Canadian basketball power.


  • 1976 – 🥇 Gold Medalists (National Champions)
    The 1976 squad captured the national title - the pinnacle of Bison basketball history.


  • 1985 – 🥉Bronze Medalists (Final Four Consolation Champions)
    Another podium finish highlighted the program’s sustained excellence through the 1980s.
