Congratulations to Mason Kraus – Representing Canada at the U23 Pan Am Games!

 

Mason Kraus proudly wore the red and white as part of Team Canada at the 2025 Junior Pan American Games (ASU 2025) in Asunción, Paraguay, held August 9–23. Over 4,000 athletes under the age of 23 from 41 countries competed across 28 sports, including men’s and women’s 3×3 basketball, staged August 15–17. Canada’s men’s 3×3 squad featured: Mason Kraus (University of Manitoba) Aaron Rhooms (Toronto Met University) Yohann Sam (University of Windsor) Shadynn Smid (University of Victoria)

The Canadian men’s team advanced to the quarterfinals, where they battled Chile before being edged out in a hard-fought 21–16 result. Chile went on to reach the semifinals, while Canada’s run came to a close.

While the team did not medal, Mason’s achievement in representing Canada on the international stage is a tremendous accomplishment! We’re excited to welcome him back and wish him the very best as he takes on his final season with the Herd!
