Darryl Rumsey played five seasons with the Bisons from 1971 to 1976. A dominant presence on both ends of the court, he was a two-time First Team All-Canadian, a one-time Honourable Mention All-Canadian, a four-time Conference All-Star, and a team MVP. In 1975–76, Rumsey was named the University’s Male Athlete of the Year and graduated as the Bisons’ third all-time leading scorer and top rebounder. A key member of the 1976 National Championship team, Rumsey and teammate Rick Watts hold the best regular season record in Bisons history — an outstanding 62–10 mark (86%).
