The Bisons men’s basketball team has added another major piece to its 2025 recruiting class with the commitment of 6’8”, 198-pound wing Felipe Díaz from Madrid, Spain.
Díaz brings an impressive international résumé, having represented Spain at both the U16 and U18 national team levels.
Most recently, he played for Lennoxville Prep in Quebec, where he earned Power5 AAA First Team All-Conference honors.
A sharp-shooting lefty with outstanding size and versatility, Díaz has turned heads on both sides of the Atlantic.
During the 2024–25 prep season, he recorded multiple 36-point games, including one against Putnam Academy, a five-time U.S. national prep champion.
At the 2024 U18 Eurobasket, Díaz was among the tournament’s top performers—leading Spain in points per possession and ranking third in field goal percentage, just two years after helping Spain to a silver medal at the U16 Eurobasket.
“We are very excited to add Felipe to the Bison Family,” said Head Coach Kirby Schepp. “He is a special talent and should fit right in with our group. We think Felipe can fill many roles within the offense, as he is a true position-less player.”
Díaz echoed the enthusiasm: “I’m so excited to be part of the Bison family. There is no better place for me to improve as a basketball player and as a person. I’m looking forward to joining the team and starting to work hard.”
With Díaz's commitment, the Bisons have completed their 2025 recruiting class. “It’s a good group that I believe can help us now and into the future,” added Coach Schepp.
