Here are the 1978-79 Manitoba Bisons.
This season was unique, as Dave Guss took over as head coach while Don Hunter was on a one-year sabbatical. It marked Dave’s only season as head coach of the Bisons, though he had previously spent several years as an assistant coach.
Guss, a 30-year high school coaching legend at Westwood, was inducted into the MHSAA Hall of Fame in the Builder Category in 2015. Dave was also inducted in the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame as the assistant coach with the 1976 CIAU/CIS Canadian Basketball Champs, UM Bisons.
