Bisons' Road to Nationals

Bisons’ Road to Nationals

Canada West will be represented at Nationals by host UBC, along with the top two finishers in the conference.

However, if UBC finishes first or second, the third-place team will also qualify.

This sets up a favorable path for the Bisons - win our semifinal, and we punch our ticket to Nationals. If we lose, we’ll have one more opportunity in a third-place match the following weekend.

How it all plays out…

Canada West Semi-Finals (Saturday, March 1st)

No. 3 UBC at No. 2 MANITOBA

No. 4 Calgary at No. 1 Victoria

If Bisons win against UBC…

A win secures a spot in the Canada West Final and a berth at Nationals in Vancouver (March 13-16)!

If Victoria wins the other semi-final, Manitoba travels to Victoria for the CW final on March 8.

If Calgary wins, Manitoba hosts Calgary for the CW final on March 7 or 8.

If the Bisons Lose to UBC…

Since UBC automatically qualifies for Nationals as the host team, a Canada West 3rd place game will be played, with the winner earning a spot at Nationals.

This game will take place on the weekend of March 7-8 against the loser of the other semi-final:

If Victoria wins, Manitoba hosts Calgary for the 3rd place game.

If Calgary wins, Manitoba travels to Victoria for the 3rd place game.

Every game counts—let’s go, Bisons! 🦬💪
